Project description and West Systems role and activities

Implementation of a prototype of an automatic differential titrimetry  for the control of an on line biological process in order to reduce carbon emissions in wastewater treatment plants.

The prototype will be tested on the GIDA water treatment plant (based in Prato, Italy). The instrument will be optimized and installed and will allow continuous measurement of the rate of nitrification in the aerobic basin of the water treatment plant.

The efficiency of the transfer of oxygen will be increased by 20% and, at the same time, will reduce the electrical consumption of the oxygen generation system with a consequent reduction in CO2 emissions necessary for energy production.

West Systems will build the prototype and will develop the whole process control strategy.
